VS 2010 Effects/animations lag.

Hi all.

In my project I have a fading form effect and a scrolling form effect.
Both of these effects tend to lag a bit sometime, and on slower PC's they tend to leg a lot. (Got an I7 2670QM, Nvidia GTX570m)
I have no idea why such simple effects should lag.
Can anyone help me out? Thanks!
Another thing, everytime I open the project, I see an error with "wmp.... DLL missing". I don't even use Windows Media Player in this project, how do I remove it?

I've attached the project(Visual Studio 2010 project).
ATTENTION: make sure you drop the LDX folder on the root of one of your drives, eg: C:\LDX, E:\LDX etc.. Otherwise this program will just close when debugging.
Controls: Arrow keys, enter, and V for closing.
The icons you'll see in the GAME menu when debugging aren't bootable since I can't send entire games.

Press enter on the GAME icon for fading form effect, press Enter on the SETTINGS icon for scrolling form effect.

PS: sorry for the really messy code. Gotta make things work first before I can make it better.
