White Font When Disable Label

I have a label on top of an image, I have successfully managed to make my box change image when clicked, but when you click the label it didn't change the background image, so instead of coding the label to effect the image background, I found that turning the "Enabled" option to false did the same job, however the font color changes from white to a faded grey color, is there a way to disable the label without it effecting the color of the font? Or must I enable it and code it to change the image background property?

Sorry for the noobish question

Thanks,
Tom.
