HPC cluster

i'm thinking of setting up a HPC (High Performance Computing) cluster using an AMD Phenom Quad Core PC 2.31Ghz + an AMD Hex Core PC 2.8Ghz.
2 questions:

1/ How do I set this up?
2/ What sort of performance can I expect?
